Raya Auto and Shift EV Announce Unprecedented Strategic Lithium-Ion Battery Supply Partnership

Raya Auto, a subsidiary of Raya Holding for Financial Investments and a prominent player in the e-mobility industry in Egypt, has announced a strategic battery supply partnership with Shift EV, an electric mobility startup specializing in battery manufacturing and fleet electrification. Under the partnership, Shift EV shall supply locally produced lithium-ion batteries to power Raya Auto’s light e-mobility products.

The partnership between the two manufacturers, Raya Auto and Shift EV, marks the first regional alliance capable of deep localization of electric mobility technology as Egypt moves towards expanding its industrial base. Danone Egypt converts 50% of its fleet to Electro-fitted trucks in partnership with Shift EV

As part of its ongoing commitment towards environmental sustainability, Danone Egypt announces a strategic partnership with Shift EV, leading the way towards a more sustainable future by converting 50% of its distribution fleet to electro-fitted refrigerated trucks!

This initiative marks an important milestone in Danone Egypt’s sustainability strategy, by leading the way towards a more sustainable future, reducing carbon emissions, and converting 50% of its distribution fleet to electric power. The project aims to reduce carbon emissions by more than 6,000 metric tons, equivalent to planting 240,000 trees until 2030, and resulting in 70% reduction in operating costs.

During the signing ceremony, Danone Egypt had the honour of welcoming Mr. Ambassador Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France in Egypt to shed light on circular economy and the role of individuals and companies in leading sustainability.

Mylerz and Shift EV Agree to Electrify Fleet

November 2023, Mylerz Egypt and Shift EV announced their agreement  to convert the Mylerz logistics vehicle fleet to electric vehicles using Shift EV’s electrofitting technology, after the successful pilot deployment of electrofitted vehicles in Mylerz operations.

Shift EV’s electrofitting technology uses an industrial process to convert commercial vehicles from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles using lithium ion batteries manufactured locally by Shift EV at its factory in the 6th of October city, the first in MENA. Electrofitting substantially reduces the operational costs of fleets by up to 80% compared with gasoline, as well as reducing the carbon emissions from the vehicles, thus saving the environment as well as the economy.

Nestlé Egypt Partners with Shift EV to Electrify its Logistics Fleet

Nestlé, the world’s largest nutrition, health, and wellness company, in Egypt, announced an electrification agreement with Shift EV, an electric mobility start-up, to convert its logistics fleet to run on electric power using Shift EV’s innovative Electrofitting™ technology, in the first-ever full electrification program in the FMCG market in Africa and MENA. By leveraging Shift EV’s Electrofitting™ technology, Nestlé will help reduce its carbon emissions by extending the life of depreciated fleet vehicles and converting to electric vehicles (EVs), while delivering operational savings.

This agreement comes at the successful conclusion of a pilot deployment of Shift EV’s technology in Nestlé’s operations in what is the first EV deployment in the FMCG industry in Egypt. The agreement lays out the path to electrify fleets with payload capacities between 0.5 and 4 tons, which are critical in sales and distribution activities.
